Shoutout to all the boob lights! Not sure what I’m talking about?? ….Does the light below look familiar?? Give it a minute…you’ll see the resemblance eventually! 😉
Yes, these lights are incredibly cheap but unfortunately they’re not fan favorites as made evident by the popular gag name “Boob Light”.
So here are some alternative options. You could always rewire and install recessed lights if you want a somewhat “invisible” light. This works great if you already have competing design elements where a ceiling light would only be a distraction.
If you want a little pazzaz with an easier electrical swap, I love a stunning brass, milk glass, black, or linen ceiling light fixture. If you want your lights to be obvious and become somewhat of a ceiling focal point, a semi-flush light is your way to go. These hang slightly lower and often showcase a beautiful brass, nickle, or matte black plate.
If you want your lights to look sophisticated but blend in a little more, a flush mount is your best bet. They’re lower profile and sit flush with the ceiling making them a stylish surprise when you look up.
Here are 20 “Danica approved” flush mount and semi-flush mount boob light replacements! Happy shopping! 🙂
What windows are pictured?
Hi Danica,
Where is the beautiful gold milk-light in the third photo from?
Thank you 🙂
Hi Michelle! All the designers are linked below each photo and they might have more info on sources.
Love the kitchen cabinet paint color! Could you share what it is?
The kitchen above is from Amber Interiors. I’d recommend checking out her site for details – there are links below the images.
Thanks so much for this post! This is exactly what I needed! I have been desperately wanting to replace my entryway boob light and I had a friend order me #15 for my birthday! Woo!! I can’t wait! I’ll have to tag you once it arrives :)- Macy@wanderingmyhome
Yay how exciting! Can’t wait to see! 🙂
I love 19, but the link is not correct. Can you help 🙂
Thanks for pointing that out! Looks like the product was taken offline so I updated the link with another light that’s nearly identical! 🙂
