At the time of choosing our engineered wood floors, I felt very limited to the options available at the stores in our area. Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Menards were the obvious first stops in our hunt and we were fortunate to find something we loved, but at the time I didn’t realize I could shop for wood floors online. Maybe I didn’t do my research or maybe this concept wasn’t as popular…I honestly don’t know. But today there are a few options for shopping online!
From real hardwoods to engineered and vinyl, the following shops have a wide variety of styles and colors. They also all ship samples and I HIGHLY recommend you do that to test colors before placing an order.
1 STUGA STUDIO
Stuga Studio is somewhat of a new company but they’re already known for their quality engineered hardwoods. What sets them apart is their incredible locking system that eliminates gaps between boards. They can be installed in main floors, in basements, on walls or on ceilings and they don’t need to be acclimated before installing! PLUS all of their floors ship free and they offer free samples as well! Have I sold you on this company yet?! 🙂
2 FLOOR & DECOR
This shop is new to me but I heard of it from the incredible designer, Jenny Komenda. They carry a ton of inventory including laminate, engineered hardwoods, water resistant wood, and vinyl. Their pricing is incredibly reasonable and samples can be purchased for $3 a piece.
3 LUMBER LIQUIDATORS
Chris and I purchased our engineered hardwood floors from Lumber Liquidators and were super pleased with our experience working with them. We have a store in our area so we were fortunate enough to check out the samples in person, but they also sell all their products online. Everything from real hardwoods to engineered hardwoods and vinyl floors can be purchased online. They also offer 3 samples for $10 and free shipping!
4 CALI BAMBOO
I don’t personally have any experience with this company but their ratings speak for themselves with an average of 4.5 out of 5 stars! They offer real, engineered, and vinyl flooring as well as a 50 year residential warrenty! Free samples can be ordered online or when you call in!
And before you leave, I’d like to share the engineered wood floor essentials that I cannot live without –
NAIL ON FELT PADS
Immediately after installing our new floors, I was sticking felt pads under EVERYTHING! Chair legs, table legs, and even planters that sat on the floor. Through trial and a lot of error (the sticky ones love to fall off), I finally found the only felt pad that actually stays on. Long story short…these pads saved the day! 😉
SWIFFER SWEEP + VACUUM
We use this on a regular basis! Got rid of our broom and happily replaced it with this sweeper and vacuum in one. A quick walkthrough picks up crumbs and pet hair and makes sweeping suuuper quick and easy!
SPRAY MOP
Apparently I really appreciate cleaning products that allow me to work faster! This spray mop cleans my floors incredibly well and since it dispenses only a small amount of cleaner, it’s much safer for wood floors than a traditional mop.
BONA WOOD FLOOR CLEANER
The key with engineered wood floors is that you need a floor cleaner that dries quickly. I’ve used this Bona wood floor cleaner for several years now and love how it cleans!
