I was recently asked if I have more photos of our bedroom to share and truthfully I don’t photograph this room much because it’s in desperate need of a gut and remodel! But I tidied up the room, brought in some decor from around the house, and snapped a few photos so you can get a better view of what this room looks like “as is”….or maybe I should say what it looks like on photo day. Having it this tidy and styled is a rare occasion. 🙂
This is it…patched nail holes, sideways artwork, low ceilings, and chipped floors! The room will eventually get a new roof, new windows, new flooring….new everything! Except for a new closet! We recently gave our closet a quick 4 day makeover which brought a level of organization our closet has never seen before!
We moved our 8×10 rug from Loloi Rugs into the bedroom which helps cover the majority of the old flooring. Our nightstands have been a crowd favorite on Instagram with many asking where they’re from – West Elm! The curved wood handles are everything I love about design right now! The linen comforter is one of my favorite finds from Target! It’s difficult to find a true linen comforter (not just a duvet cover) for a reasonable price and this linen comforter from Target checks all the boxes! I purchased it in the color “sour cream” and I would hurry to buy if you like it because it appears that Target just put it on clearance to be discontinued.
Our faux bird of paradise tree has migrated from room to room and for now it’s found a home in our bedroom. I “planted” it in this stunning fluted pot from Target. My thrifted art proudly hangs sideways because I have yet to swap out the artwork for one of my free prints…plus I’ve fully accepted the “it is what it is” mindset! 🙂
Oh yes, and the bed frame! I purchased it from Overstock a couple years back and it has since been discontinued but I found a few spindle bed alternatives that you can browse through below along with all our bedroom sources!
BEDROOM SOURCES:
Rug (product photos appear neutral but the rug is blue in real life as shown in my photos)
Charcoal Throw Blanket (Discontinued)
Black Vase (Thrifted)
Artwork (Thrifted)
Bed Frame (Similar Options Below)
SPINDLE BED SOURCES:
Wayfair (Update: sold out on Wayfair, but this one is identical)

I would love if you made a post about best sizes for art above queen beds! I think that would be an awesome way to showcase some of your awesome thrift store art/cool prints, and it would just be a super useful resource for readers. I am working on redoing my bedroom currently, happened to already have that spindle bed from wayfair (1) and found a previous post of this bed setup with the rusty H&M pillows and forest green wool blanket super inspiring. Yeah, maybe I ordered the same pillows and that blanket lol. Anyways. I’ve been on the hunt for a thrift store painting with touches of that forest green in it because man does it pop with that blanket. Anyway. Love your blog and I would love to see different art options/sizes you come up with!
Hi Tori! Thanks for the idea! Generally speaking you want artwork to fill 2/3 the width of the furniture below it so hopefully that helps narrow down some artwork sizes. Best of luck on your search! 🙂
