The entryway is the first impression of your home’s interior and it’s often the last thing we, the homeowners, refresh. It’s easy to overlook this workhorse of a space so I’ve put together a beautiful entry moment you can copy for your home.
Starting with the main pieces of the entry – the rug, table, and mirror.
I’ve talked about this entry table multiple times and I won’t stop till I have a house where there’s room to put it. It’s a stunning dupe to this Pottery Barn black distressed buffet, but it’s less than $300!
I love the unexpected shape of this mirror with the thin gold frame. There’s a beautiful juxtaposition between the distressed black entry table and the modern gold frame that balances the two styles.
And for the rug, I like a rug with lots of movement so it can disguise the dirt you track in the house. This rug comes in so many sizes!
Because the entry table is quite wide, I’d divide the surface into three decorative sections. I can’t stop thinking about this modern lamp with an intriguing shape…adding that first. Then to balance the visual weight of the table, I need something with height on the other end so I’d add a tall vase with a bundle of greenery. Real greenery looks great…faux greenery last forever…take your pick.
And for the middle portion of the table, I love a stack of books with an unexpected element on top – this sculpture or this resin hand dish for example.
And that’s all. We’ve set the stage for the rest of your home and we’ve made a good first impression!
