We didn’t do much for Christmas decor this year but a full and fluffy garland makes up for that. Especially when that garland is 15ft long on a 16 ft wall! We also bought a real tree and kept that simple too with just a few string lights and white ornaments. Honestly, I’m kinda loving this simplified version. Seeing everyone else deck their home for the holidays has been so fun to watch, but the word that kept popping in my head while we pulled out the Christmas decorations was “simplify.” And simplify we did!
Other notable things –
I spray painted a couple of my white tapered candles tan to make them pop against the white brick. I like! (Don’t worry I won’t burn them…they’re just for decor now.) But maybe next year I’ll upgrade to the real deal – these greige, tan, or assortment of colors would be pretty!
One of these nights when I’m bored I’m gonna twist my candles like Brady Tolbert did. 😍That’s the kind of DIY and creativity that inspires me!
I’m sure you’ve heard by now but Loloi partnered with Chris Loves Julia to create the most beautiful line of rugs and Loloi was so kind to send me one of them! Obsessed with the colors!! Pictured above is the Sage/Blush rug in the Rosemarie collection. It’s in high demand and it’s coming back in stock on December 24th – sign up here for the restock alert!
I now have three pieces of art from Splendus and this tree etching (shown above) from their new collection is my absolute favorite! Printed on a 12×24” sheet of moab rag paper with a deckled edge (aka hand torn) gives it that authentic look. LOVE! And the frame…well that took waaaay longer for me to make than I’d like to admit.
Speaking of art, I do enough framing in a year that I convinced myself to get a beveled edge mat cutter. So excited to try this little contraption!
Chris and I just finished all 6 seasons of Schitts Creek in under 2 weeks and all I can say is it’s ADDICTING!! Soo many good one liners and “Ew David” has officially become a part of our vocabulary. 🙂 Highly recommend watching it on Netflix if you haven’t already!
Apparently you can revive wilted hydrangeas with just boiling water?? Shocked!

Found further instructions from plantaddicts.com –
Re-cut the stems of the wilted hydrangeas by removing a portion at the bottom.
Boil water and pour it into a cup.
Stand the stems of the wilted hydrangeas in the boiling water for 30 seconds.
Then immediately put into fresh room temperature water (this usually means back into the arrangement).
If the blooms are not too old, within a couple of hours they will have completely revived. Occasionally, the revival process will take several hours. In most cases, the blooms will look as fresh as the first day.

where are the curtains and hardware from in the picture with the tree? 🤍
The curtains are handmade, but I’ll attach a link to the curtain rod!
