Q:
Where is your favorite place to shop for rugs?
– Kaitlyn
Oh the rug…it’s the hardest thing to select because it’s quite literally the foundation for the room’s design. Jenny Komenda, Brady Tolbert, and 3 other designers told me that when you’re designing a room from scratch, you should always start with the rug. And can I just say that they were 100% right! Picking a rug first gives you a style for the room, a color palette that you can work within, and a general feel for the space. But I already talked about that in this post so I won’t dive in on that topic again today. 🙂
There are so many places to shop for rugs but these 7 are my go-to shops –
1 // Rugs USA
Rugs USA has one of the largest inventory of rugs with a wide range of styles. They’re known for having incredibly reasonable prices and lots of sales! Although their mass amounts of rug options may seem intimidating at first, I utilize the search filters heavily to narrow down my options. This is usually the first site I check when I’m looking for a rug.
2 // LOLOI RUGS
If you want to know what’s it’s like to drool over a rug, check out Loloi Rugs! They produce some of the most beautiful traditional and Persian style rugs you will ever see. And if you’re wondering where you’ve heard of the name Loloi before….Joanna Gaines and Ellen DeGeneres partnered with Loloi to create custom collections just for us! Yay! Some retailers may carry Loloi rugs in store but you can also shop their collections on Amazon.
3 // McGEE & CO
Along with their timeless home décor and furniture, McGee & Co also offers a beautiful collection of rugs! Since the owners of McGee & Co are professional interior designers, you know you’re finding the best and most current styles on their site!
4 // OVERSTOCK
Lots of inventory to pick from! Overstock carries the brand Safavieh and I’ve been fond of their products for quite some time now! In fact, our home office gray/black flatweave rug is from Safavieh and I’ve been more than impressed with the quality!
5 // WAYFAIR
Another online shop with a lot of inventory! Be sure to use their search filters to narrow down the style, size, pile height, and price point that you want.
6 // URBAN OUTFITTERS
If I want a flatweave rug, Urban Outfitters is the first online shop I check. They have a stunning collection and from what I’ve noticed, they add new styles fairly often. My only note is that they don’t carry every size for every rug. Some only come in smaller sizes so check what they offer before you fall in love with a specific rug!
7 // HOME GOODS
I absolutely love shopping at Home Goods! Since they carry a limited stock of everything and they rotate their products regularly, it’s like an ever changing treasure hunt! If you don’t find something you love the first time, go back in a week or two and I guarantee they’ll have fresh inventory for you to search through!
