Ok, so maybe it’s not as much of an entryway as it is just a corner in our living room, BUT we had to be strategic about this corner by our front door because it needed to be stylish AND functional. Today I’m sharing how we styled our entryway corner and links to all the products we chose!
I started off with a coat rack. We don’t have a coat closet (or any closet for that matter) so when guests come over we tend to just throw the coats in a pile in this corner. A coat rack was a must! I chose our very own Kenneth Coat Rack which I’m OBSESSED with! It does the job perfectly! I also incorporated a faux snake plant because this corner needed some life and color. Although I love real plants, this corner doesn’t get a tone of natural light throughout the day so I knew I needed a super realistic faux plant. It’s gorgeous and I honestly can’t tell the different between this one and the real deal.
Styling Tip – Every styled space needs two things: height variations and balance. If you decorate a space (or shelf) with pieces that have varying heights you will instantly add interest and create a more appealing look. But when working with items that have different heights (like the tall coat rack and the short plant) you have to keep balance in mind. The coat rack holds a lot of weight on the left side, so to balance it out I needed artwork on the right.
I hung my favorite thing in the world – a letterboard. I love to customize the words from time to time. Plus it doesn’t hurt to have a little inspirational quote to pump me up before I walk out the door.
Styling Tip – Leave room to breathe. It’s so easy to overcrowd a space by adding too many elements. Notice I only used three pieces to style this corner, and yet it doesn’t feel bare. Instead of thinking – “what can I add?” ask yourself, “what can I take away?” Minimal design is all about incorporating the elements you need to complete a space and adding nothing more.
This corner is amazing! I love that guests know where they can hang their coat and I don’t need to get stressed by the coat pile that used to exist here! But enough of me talking, let’s get to the sources! Check out the links below to see where we found all the things!
