I am in LOVE with the color of your front door. What stain color/brand did you choose??

  2. Debby Bridgeman says:

I love the color of your house! We have looked through many pictures and have decided to give it a try.
I am curious, did you paint the gutters and downspouts or were you able to find a green gutter that matched?

  3. Weston says:

Where is your front door from?

  4. andi says:

Hi! Where did you find your exterior lights?

  5. Courtney says:

Random Q, where’s your front door handle from!? Love it

  6. brandon says:

Are the photos filtered? I purchased a sample can and tested it on my garage and it looks more gray/brown. Also, in case anyone is curious, this color has been renamed by Sherwin-Williams to Muddled Basil.

    • Danica says:

Thanks for the heads up on the name change! The colors in the photos are true to life. But with any paint color, it can look vastly different from one home to another due to differences in lighting and surroundings.

  7. Shelbe says:

    This is INCREDIBLE. Absolutely STUNNING!

  8. lisa says:

I love this color you finally chose for the exterior. Did you paint the trim the same color? It looks like it is but not sure.

fantastic siding choice and color!! kudos to pushing past your comfort zone and finding something that felt right. i’m new here but I couldnt help but notice some letters nicely painted on the (original?) cedar lap siding! how amazing! have you addressed the history of the property and the text/painting before? I’m guessing it said LUMBER? I’m a weirdo so I can’t help but think how cool it would look to have left that exposed, or to recreate those letters on your new siding. I also love seeing where the original cutouts were for windows in previous centuries. its interesting to me how great the scale and proportions were (windows/doorways to rooflines, building mass) and how they’ve been adjusted and reframed in years since. i’m curious (again, i know) if any of those openings could have been resuscitated in an effort to bring a visual, proportional harmony back to certain areas, even as a folly/false opening? again, great work, very inspiring!

    • Danica says:

Thanks Dave! Yes, we can’t find much information on our house but the little we have found shows that our home was once a lumber store. Took lots of photos for history sake, but we weren’t able to keep it exposed since it was painted directly onto the sheathing. Fun to discover the history though!
