We’ve been without a mirror in our bedroom for a while now and we were so ready for that to come to an end. Every time we wanted to check our outfits, we had to go to the garage where Chris has a full length mirror next to his gym equipment. Real glamorous.
Rule no. 1 – every bedroom needs a mirror. Don’t forget about your guest room too! Your guests want to check that their hair isn’t frizzy and their eye boogers are at a minimum before they join you for breakfast. Trust me.
The main problem we have is that we don’t have space for a full length mirror. Such is the case with a lot of small bedrooms and I just can’t bring myself to hang a cheap $5 mirror on the back of the door like I did in college. But at the very least, if you don’t have space for a full length mirror, just prop a tall mirror on the dresser and that’s plenty good! As an added bonus, a mirror in a small room makes the space feel bigger while it simultaneously bounces light around the room from surrounding windows. (My favorite trick for making small spaces feel bigger and brighter!)
Take a wild guess where I got the silver beaded mirror and glass vases from…The Home Depot! So cute with a few fall leaves and pine cones right? (PS the mirror comes in brass too!)
I don’t know if you’ve been keeping up, but The Home Depot has really upped their game in the home decor department. I know, I know…the store we go to weekly for lumber, screws, and a replacement tape measurer because we lost the last one (again) actually sells really beautiful home decor online! Have you been in their garden section in store? I love to see what pots and planters they stock up for the spring and fall!
As you’re decorating your home for fall, consider these –
The dining chairs are under $160 for a set of 2! Those ivory linen cotton blend sheets have the best texture and are the perfect transition sheets into fall & winter. And I love a pair of sculptures to top a stack of books on your coffee table or shelves. Don’t forget The Home Depot offers free shipping over $45 and free returns in store if something doesn’t quite work out.
