I had a real life Telephone Game moment…you know the whisper game you played as a kid? I heard from someone, who heard from someone else, who heard from someone else about an amazing free art resource!
I was scrolling through Instagram…as one does when you’re avoiding your to-do list…and I stumbled upon one of my favorite accounts and people – Erin from @francois_et_moi. She was fixing up a frame and she paired it one of the most gorgeous vintage prints! And then she said that she found the artwork for free along with a bunch of other free vintage art!
Ok I’m hooked…where is this free art from Erin!?
Apparently the National Gallery of Art has an archive of thousands of vintage art digital downloads…all of which are available to download for free!
So naturally, after hearing about this art gold mine, I spent the next 4 hours scrolling through their archive and saving my favorites!
I found line drawings, oil paintings, watercolor prints and I gasped every time I found a keeper!
So here’s the deal, I already started downloading and printing a few pieces for myself, but I collected my top 19 images and I want to share my favorites with you!
If you want my curated collection of free vintage artwork from the NGA, click the link below to be taken to my free art collections page where you can submit your email and I’ll email the digital downloads to you right away!
You can print your artwork on quality paper from home, at your local print shop or have it printed on canvas! Snap a photo and share it with me on Instagram @nadine_stay. I’d LOVE to see how you style these prints in your home!
