Over the past few months I’ve been sharing progress shots of our kitchen reno project and you guys have been asking me where we bought all the things! I figured it’d be easiest to put all the information here so you can copy the look!
If you’re wondering what kitchen renovation I’m talking about, check out the full reveal here! There are some insane before/after shots you have to see!
CABINETS – We chose the Kungsbacka collection from Ikea. Yep, they’re Ikea cabinets! I’ve gotten a ton of questions about Ikea’s cabinetry quality, selection, and just my overall thoughts of the product. My short answer is we love them! If you’re curious to learn more about Ikea cabinetry, I have a full post answering your FAQ as well as some ‘good-to-know’ info!
FLOORING – We love the light wood tones in modern homes so we opted for a light colored engineered hardwood floor. They’re natural beech floors by Mayflower and we purchased them from Lumber Liquidators. We absolutely love them! They don’t show dust easily and installation was super simple.
PAINT COLOR – I like a crisp white so we chose Nautica White by Nautica
ADDITIONAL SOURCES – Door Handles | Bar Stools
Range Hood | Range | Oven by Jenn-Air (This model is from a couple years ago and is no longer in production) | Subway Tile | Grout in the color Charcoal
Countertops – We were doing this remodel on a tight budget and we knew that the countertops could easily become the most expensive part of the kitchen. With our budget and style preferences limiting our options, we ended up going with solid surface countertops. Thus far we like the quality of them. They’re a higher quality material than laminate but not nearly as expensive as stone. It’s seamless and it comes in a variety of styles/colors. We got Hi Macs Solid Surface in Arctic White from Home Depot. They measured and installed it for us free of charge so we didn’t have to worry about that.
ADDITIONAL SOURCES: Sink | Faucet | Soap Dispenser
Round Cheese Board | Cement Pot (No Longer Available) | White Vase | Faux Succulent
I hope you’ve found these sources and links useful! Happy shopping!

The oven, it is a wall oven installed in lower cabinet? I think it compliments the cooktop really well and I would never think of doing that.
That’s exactly right! Thank you so much 🙂
What hardware did you use on your cabinets?
We chose the KALLRÖR handles, also from Ikea.
Thank you so much. Your kitchen is beautiful.
Hi! Just curious how are the countertops holding up?
Surprisingly incredibly well! 2+ years with them and still no scratches, gouges, or stains!
What size side panel did you use on the side of the island so it extends all they way to the end of your butcher block over hang? Thx!
We used a full size cover panel from Ikea which I believe was roughly 48"w x 94"L and then we cut it to size.
What kind of plywood did you use for the back panel of the island and what finish did you apply to it?
We used a maple veneer plywood and sealed it with 3 coats of Polycrylic. Both can be found at your local hardware store! 🙂
Thanks for the details on your kitchen. You’ve given me the confidence to go for it on the kungsbacka cabinets.
Yay!! You’re gonna love them!
