Chris and I have been told before, “I’m impressed with how much energy you two have! I don’t have the energy for projects like that anymore.” I always attributed our ambition to excitement rather than energy….but I suppose 6 years of gutting and remodeling a house does require some energy. My response has always been, “Gotta take advantage of our energy while we have it!”
I think about people who work in construction daily and I follow a lot of home remodel DIY’ers on Instagram who quite literally do not take breaks, and I think the same thing about them – how do you have the energy!? We used to do projects back to back but this year I find myself being pulled in two different directions. I can see the finish line with our home remodel and I can count on one hand the number of projects we have to do to call this place “done.” It feels like when you get that last little jolt of energy in a race once you see the finish line. Yet on the other hand I can feel an energy shift in the other direction. Dedicating our evenings to projects 5 days out of the week was once so thrilling, and now it takes a little more ramping up to get back into it. I know once we start our 2022 project list I’ll find my energy through the excitement…but while we wait for the weather to warm up I gotta admit, sitting is nice. 🙂
February Favorites –
I bought my first pair of biker shorts and they’re yummy soft!
While on the hunt for hutch decor, I wanted a stack of dinnerware that looked handmade and imperfect. Fell in love with these dinner plates, salad plates, and bowls and the contrast against our dark wood hutch has me singing!
Still thinking about the tank lid on this toilet! No bathroom of mine has ever been sophisticated enough for such a lid…but a girl can dream.
I’ve had the same pair of running/hiking/workout sneakers for 10 years, but last summer I got paint all over them so I had a parting ceremony and purchased a new pair! These ON Cloud Nova sneakers are SO comfy! I got the black pair but that mustard colorway has my attention too.
I stepped out of my denim comfort zone and I like the edge. (Currently 50% off and under $30!)
A French return curtain rod is all I want nowadays. Something about them screams sophistication. They can get expensive quick…or you can get my favorite budget friendly dupe.
Ever since we got a new washing machine, our black clothes come out of the washer with a white powdery residue all over them. Then out of the blue my mom told me she was having the same problem with her new washing machine. And then she chatted with her friends and they said the same thing!! We have different washing machine brands, but the same exact problem! Soft water, hot water, cold water, different detergent, cleaning the basket…nothing seams to fix the issue. Apparently this is more of a widespread issue than I thought…do you have this problem too!?
