Sometimes I stumble upon a home that hits me like a ton of bricks…in a good way. I browse through designer portfolios on a daily basis, and when a home makes me pause and lean in for a closer look, I take note of that.
I used to love one, and only one, design style – mid century modern. Back in 2016, when I first dipped my toe into interior design, I couldn’t imaging loving anything but modern. But as the years passed, my personal style evolved and my appreciation for many styles expanded.
What’s funny is, my personal style preferences have done a complete 180°. I am now drawn to very rustic homes. I have been for nearly 2 years and I think our laundry room is proof of that. The warmth of rich textured wood, the character of stacked logs with chinking, and the creativity required to design with wood interiors excites me.
So you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon this cabin by Velvet And Linen.
The vision Brooke and Steve, the homeowners, had for the exterior transformation blew me away. Replacing portions of the siding and reworking elements of the structure while preserving the rustic charm is not an easy feat, yet it was done flawlessly.
Then on the interior, the square hewn log walls with chinking and the large windows that let sunlight flood the home feels like a breathe of fresh air. Brooke and Steve named their charming home Patina Meadows and I can’t think of a better name.
I had my first experience using Poppy & Pout lip care products last month and I’m never loved a chapstick so much! And that lip scrub….it takes everything within me not to eat it cause it smells sooo good!
